[Remarks by Director]

Dear friends,

In this rapidly changing era, the world we once knew has quietly transformed, appearing both familiar and unfamiliar. We face the devastation of disease, environmental degradation, the spread of war, political struggles, and the silent crises buried deep within society. None of us can remain unaffected. These issues permeate our daily lives and subtly influence our thoughts, emotions, and creations.

A significant part of my creative inspiration comes from reflections on life and death. I strive to capture these fleeting moments through movement, allowing emotions to be elevated and memories to endure. In my work “Floating Flowers,” a piece dedicated to my late father, I use undulating body language to transform remembrance into a poetic dance. “Before We Say Goodbye,” created during the pandemic, carries a deep sense of grief for lives lost too soon, serving as a reminder to cherish every moment and everyone around us. “Rage” was inspired by social injustices, breaking through apathy and division through choreography, compelling us to reexamine our relationships and rediscover human warmth. Last year’s piece “Crack,” stemmed from news reports and delves into the impact of global warming on human survival, hoping to awaken greater awareness and reflection. These works are not just commemorations of the past but reminders of the present—every day we live is a gift, and art helps us recognize and honor this precious reality.

While we cannot control the world’s changes, we can choose how to live within them. When you step into the theater, watch dance, listen to music, and experience the flow of art, you are connecting with creators, performers, and the collective experiences of this era. May our hopes be fulfilled, and may peace prevail. In these uncertain times, let art be our shared language, reminding us of life’s meaning and giving us the strength to embrace the present. Cherish this moment, engage with art—because that is how we embrace the world.
