Dear Friends,

As spring arrives, the earth awakens, and everything begins to bloom. B.DANCE’s 2025 Europe Spring Tour is launching, with performances in Spain, Switzerland, France, and the Netherlands. We will be presenting two distinct works, “Before We Say Goodbye” and “ALICE”, exploring the fluidity of dance in a contemporary context and its potential for dialogue with diverse cultural landscapes.

The tour will begin in Barcelona, a city rich in both cultural and modern artistic expression. From there, we will move on to Monthey in Switzerland, followed by performances in Saint-Étienne, Cambrai, and Sceaux in France, as well as Heerlen in the Netherlands. The tour will culminate with seven performances in Paris, bringing this journey to a perfect close.

Notably, Paris has long been regarded as one of the epicenters of European dance, from the Romantic ballet of the 19th century to contemporary choreographic reflections on body politics. Thus, how “ALICE” will be received and influenced by the theater culture in Paris is an important aspect of this tour to observe.

Each of the two works in this tour is unique in theme and form, yet both resonate with the ideas of transformation and reconstruction that spring symbolizes. “Before We Say Goodbye” focuses on the cycles of life and the evolution of human relationships, capturing the subtle tension between farewell and rebirth through delicate physical movements. Meanwhile, “ALICE” takes inspiration from fairy tales, exploring how the body is reconstructed through transformation, displacement, and poetic storytelling.

We hope that B.DANCE’s Europe Spring Tour is not just a series of artistic performances but also an opportunity to foster cultural dialogue. Through the sensations evoked by dance, we can reconsider how the body is perceived and understood across different cultural contexts. Moreover, we can explore how contemporary choreography, through movement, establishes deeper connections with its audience.
