[Remarks by Director]
July was a month of quiet momentum and deep, internal flow.
No tours. No performances. No applause or spotlight.
Instead, it was a time of body-to-body dialogue, of passing on knowledge and experience.
In recent months, we opened the doors of the B.DANCE rehearsal studio, inviting external dancers to join our internal training sessions.
Through this gesture, we hoped to share our training methods, physical dynamics, company vocabulary and even the thought process and aesthetics behind every movement—with more young artists who carry a passion for dance.
I believe the body is the most honest memory bank.
A shared training session is also a sharing of hearts.
These open trainings are not a one-time initiative, but seeds planted for what we envision as the next generation of B.DANCE.
Someday, we hope the dancers who once trained and sweat alongside us might become part of our future works or carry forward the awareness and discipline they cultivated here on their own artistic paths.
Beyond group sessions, I also resumed one-on-one and small group mentorships returning to a more intimate, precise space for physical dialogue.
Over the past 15 years, I’ve taught dancers of different ages, backgrounds, and physical conditions including those just beginning their journey.
These experiences continue to remind me: teaching is not about giving, but about drawing out the light within.
Through subtle adjustments and quiet pauses in conversation, we’re actually building a kind of embodied knowledge structure one that may last far beyond any single movement.
I was also honored to serve as a jury member for the Asia Pacific Dance Competition, and to lead a masterclass for the top-ranked team in Taiwan’s National Dance Competition.
From observing, questioning, to guiding, these experiences reaffirmed my belief that education is a vital, sustainable force within dance.
It’s not only about technique, it’s about how we observe, how we think, and how we respond to the world through the body.
July may not have brought headlines or glamour,
but it was a time rooted closest to the ground.
When we choose to take root, education becomes more than a process of teaching and learning.
It becomes light quietly flowing through the body, gradually transforming us.
To every dancer who has crossed paths with us:
When you find the light within, your body will be strong enough to carry the future.
