[Remarks by Director]
We often say that dance is an art of the moment.
But what if art is more than a fleeting instant?
What if it’s a river of time in constant flow—moving beyond the stage, seeping into daily life, even streaming toward the future?
At B.DANCE, we choose not just to stand at center stage, but to step into the margins of society. Through creation, we irrigate spaces that may seem unrelated—yet are deeply interconnected—launching a series of cross-disciplinary and sustainable initiatives.
In collaboration with a German furniture brand, we presented a brand concept piece titled “Exquisite Craftsmanship” at Art Taipei, turning dancers’ bodies into emotional beacons within the exhibition space. When design meets dance—when the lines of furniture echo the fluidity of the body—we discover that art need not reside solely within a black box. It can live in the curve of a chair, in the play of light across a windowpane.
We also partnered with the bridal label Banhue, upcycling dance costumes once soaked in sweat and emotion, transforming them into wedding gowns that tell stories of love and memory. Photographer Ho Chao-Sheng brought these garments into forests, old houses, and shifting light—realizing an aesthetic journey where poetry and sustainability walk hand in hand. This is more than creativity; it is our response to both the Earth and the arts.
In the literary realm, I was honored to preview Japanese author Riku Onda’s new novel “Spring” and contribute the preface to the Taiwanese edition. For me, recommending a book is like dancing in silence, in a faraway night—an intimate dialogue with readers in a space where no physical stage exists.
I was also invited to serve as a judge for the 2025 Flying Dance Award at National Taiwan University of Sport, offering insights to young talents and witnessing the courage and spark of creators transforming lived experience into movement. From making to witnessing, from the stage to critique, we are exploring a fuller, more inclusive way of engaging with art.
“Everflow” to us is not a singular act—it’s a belief. A belief that art can be sustainable, accountable, and capable of sparking social dialogue. From reimagined costumes to brand partnerships, from shared breath in the theater to quiet communion across the pages of a book, we are working to ensure that creative value doesn’t end in the moment. We want it to permeate time, shape everyday life, and carry meaning forward.
May every step we take become a small stream in the long river of art.
・B.DANCE has upheld the spirit of sustainability since its founding, embracing ESG principles as a core team value. We aim to inspire positive change for the environment and society through our actions.
To ensure high-quality productions—whether for B.DANCE’s original works or cross-disciplinary collaborations—we devote great care to designing our sets, props, costumes, and accessories. Over the years, we've accumulated a significant inventory of these carefully crafted items. Rather than let them be used only once or twice before being stored away, we’ve chosen to give them a second life.
In collaboration with photographer Ho Chao-Sheng and the bridal label BÁNHUE, we’re putting sustainability into practice by repurposing these costumes. Now, you can rent selected costumes from past B.DANCE productions to use as alternative bridalwear, or as distinctive fashion pieces for personal portrait sessions.
BÁNHUE will provide you with comprehensive, professional styling services.
