A territory bearing no mark of ownership — like the contested ground between the front lines or trenches of two opposing armies: an indeterminate grey zone. The literal meaning of No Man's Land mirrors something within our subconscious as human beings. A land where no one dwells — does it refer only to the concrete question of territory? Within our own hearts, might there also exist such a place — a land belonging to no one?
