NET is a new work by B.DANCE Artistic Director Tsai, Po-Cheng, created in 2026 — an attempt to use contemporary dance as a means of weaving together social memory and the perception of reality, responding to the fractures and turbulence defining our world today. From graffiti on European city streets to the silent mothers and children in news footage of war, to refugees mid-flight, Tsai, Po-Cheng felt deeply the weight of realities that appear distant yet remain intimately bound to us all — transforming them into a bodily act that moves beyond language and borders.
The work unfolds across five movements: First Thread, Entanglement, Sunken Net, Fracture, and Rewoven — each symbolizing a stage in the journey from individual emergence into the entanglements of relationship, the suppression of systems, the awakening of consciousness, and ultimately the reweaving of social connection. The dancers' bodies intersect like threads, forming across the stage a web of the visible and invisible, summoning the audience to ask: how do we continue to weave, between tension and rupture, a net of life capable of holding the future?
NET is not only a dance performance — it is a cultural statement, declaring that art no longer hangs at a distance, but breathes together with the land, the human heart, and history as a living contemporary texture. It is dedicated to all who persist in holding onto one another within the cracks, and it extends an invitation to the audience: to become, themselves, the thread willing to reach for another's hand.
