Alice lies lazily in the grass when, in the distance, she catches a glimpse of Mr. White Rabbit hurrying past, pocket watch in hand. Unable to contain her curiosity, she follows — and tumbles unexpectedly into a cave leading to the unknown. A dreamlike mist fills the space within; faint traces of black and white flicker around her, the stillness so complete it seems as though all things have been suspended in time. Following Mr. White Rabbit, Alice takes her first slow steps forward, into a fantastical journey filled with wonder at every turn…
A new creation by B.DANCE, developed in creative collaboration with Luzerner Theater in Switzerland. For the first time, choreographer Tsai, Po-Cheng turns to children's literature as his source material, boldly reimagining the Western classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Reuniting the original creative team behind the Gold Award-winning work Floating Flowers — composer Lee Ming-Chieh, lighting designer Chang Ting-Chung, and video designer Chang Po-Chih — the work brings together the three collaborators for a third time. The fantastical, vivid world of Western fairy tale is infused with the meditative spirit of Eastern ink-wash aesthetics, weaving an imaginative world that is at once classical and elegant, yet alive with fresh invention.
