To be born into this world is to step into a ring — confronted with opponents and decisions of every kind, where the difference between triumph and defeat lies in the individual's judgment and the swiftness of their response.
At the critical moment of confrontation, a competitor must observe with total focus and open every sense before choosing the instant to strike. The choreographer channels this tension-charged moment through a distinctly Eastern movement sensibility, interwoven with Western contemporary dance vocabulary. The dancers become the rapid-fire thoughts and intentions racing through an athlete's mind — converging, diverging, uniting, and dissolving, sometimes in unison, sometimes in counterpoint. Through transformation, deconstruction, and reassembly of steps and gestures, a single fleeting instant is stretched into infinity.
