B.link No.6|Entangled Threads

::Remarks by Director ::
In June, there was no grand stage, and no thunderous applause. But some things were quietly taking place, beyond what could be seen.
If NET is a work about connection, then June felt more like the process through which those connections gradually began to entwine, converge, and gather strength. Some threads are not visible. They do not exist under the spotlight, nor within the sound of applause. Instead, they are slowly formed through repeated conversations, exchanges, and points of encounter.
This month, B.DANCE was recognized by the Bureau of Cultural Affairs, Kaohsiung City Government, as an “Outstanding Performing Arts Group.” This recognition is not only an affirmation of the company’s past efforts, but also a reminder: the value of culture comes from long-term accumulation and sustained practice. Also in June, I was invited to serve as an introductory speaker at the Taipei and Taichung regional forums of the National Cultural Congress, where I joined cultural workers from different fields in discussing the future directions and possibilities of Taiwan’s culture. Through these exchanges, we once again felt deeply that culture is never the achievement of a single individual, but a web woven collectively by countless people.
Artists, creators, administrators, curators, audiences, and policymakers—each role is like a node. They may appear scattered, yet they pull upon one another; they may seem independent, yet together they shape the ecology of culture. And NET, even after its performances have ended, continues to extend outward. It is no longer only a structure and a body on stage, but is gradually becoming a way of seeing the world.
We have begun to understand that what truly supports a web is often not its most dazzling intersections, but the countless subtle connections that continue to exist.
June was precisely such a moment. There were no violent tremors, no grand declarations. Only thread after thread continuing to extend outward; node after node slowly drawing closer to one another. They entwine through time, converge through exchange, and generate new possibilities through understanding. These seemingly small connections will one day become the strength that supports us in the future.
We are still weaving. Not to make the web larger, but to make it deeper and more stable. Because the things that truly matter are never born in an instant. They gradually take shape through one entanglement after another.
