B.link No.10|Through the Cracks

::Remarks by Director ::
In September, we heard voices from afar.
The echoes returning from different cities gave the threads that had been resting in the depths a new direction in which to move.
At the end of September, B.DANCE set out once again for the United Kingdom, bringing Floating Flowers to the stages of Leeds Playhouse and Darlington Hippodrome. As the journey extended from Glasgow to two more cities, each encounter left new traces of the work across different cultural contexts and ways of seeing.
And as the journey came to an end, October brought us back to the familiar rhythm of creation and preparation.
We began preparing for our upcoming performances in Thailand this December, while continuing to work through plans that have yet to come into view.
Something always comes home with us after a journey. Perhaps a different way of seeing, or perhaps new questions about our creative practice. The impressions gathered along the way do not disappear when the curtain falls. Instead, they slowly settle into our everyday lives, quietly becoming the nourishment from which something new can grow before we set out again.
Throughout this time, we seem to have remained in a kind of quiet.
But quiet does not mean standing still.
Some changes need time to take shape before their outlines begin to emerge. Like a fine crack quietly spreading across a once-unbroken surface, creating an opening through which light can find its way.
This year, we began with a single thread, gradually weaving a web of our own at B.DANCE. And now, we are beginning to wonder where else this web might lead us.
Perhaps October is precisely such a moment.
We are still preparing, still making adjustments, and slowly beginning to see new directions for the year ahead.
There is no rush to reveal them, nor any urgency to define them.
We simply allow time to move forward, letting what is taking shape slowly find its own way into the world.
A crack does not always mean something is broken.
Sometimes, it is where the light first finds its way in.
And where another possibility quietly begins.
